Today marks the end of my second trimester; tomorrow I will be 28 weeks pregnant and a mere 12 weeks away from meeting our daughter for the first time--simply amazing! The second trimester started out rough with my second visit to the E.R., but was truly a blessing because it was then that I finally received treatment for hypermesis gravidarum. I struggled with taking the medication, not wanting it to have any negative side effects for baby, but I needed to take it to start gaining back the ten pounds I had lost the first four months. Unfortunately, I still need to take Zofran in the morning to stop the morning sickness, but it's certainly improved how I feel during this pregnancy. These last three months also brought the joy of feeling and seeing her kick, AND finding out that we're having a girl. Now that the last trimester is beginning I'm starting to experience back pain and the return of exhaustion, but that all leads us one step closer to our daughter. P.S. I will be out of town for Kali's wedding until Sunday (without internet access) and will return to blogging on Monday.
