On the night before Adeline's birthday, I decorated the dining room for her party. I wanted her to wake up and walk into a little fairyland just for her. I added little decorative butterflies and a poof ball to the chandelier, a balloon on each chair, and streamers along the wall around the table.
For the table, I added a pink plastic tablecloth, pink confetti, and vases with flowers.
Other than the decorations around the dining room table, I added a couple banners to decorate the kitchen and living room. Everything came from what we already owned or a trip to the dollar store, so it was very economical.
To match the whimsical theme of the day, we started the morning with rainbow waffles. In order to make this treat all you have to do is divide your waffle batter into different bowls, add food coloring to each, and then place a little batter from each bowl on the waffle iron.
For her party, Adeline wanted pizza and cupcakes, so that's exactly what we did. I also added small "crystal" bowls of fruit shish kabob sticks, popcorn, and pretzels to the table. In the middle of the table was a pretty little teapot and the girls chose between different fruit teas or lemonade. Each place setting had a unique teacup and saucer (thanks to a collection handed down from my grandma), a cloth napkin, and tiny "silverware." While they drank tea the girls made necklaces (again, using beads and string from Dollar Tree). Then, after dinner we sang "Happy Birthday," ate cupcakes, and finished off the evening with a pinata. Adeline planned it all and it turned out super cute. The perfect evening to celebrate her fourth birthday.
I wish I would have kept the camera running a couple seconds longer here. After Adeline blew out her candles she exclaimed, "This is the bets birthday ever!" Mission accomplished.
