On Saturday night, Adeline and I had the joy of welcoming home the first of Tim's battalion. Luckily she took a late nap and was up and ready to go for the nighttime arrival. As we drove to the airfield I felt nervous and excited, as if Tim was the one we are on our way to greet. I got there at 7:15 and the plane had already landed, but the families were being escorted back into the building before the soldiers were allowed off the plane. We waited for almost an hour while the soldiers' bags were unloaded and they were finally able to get off the plane. They entered through a metal door with a loud knock, followed by lights, music, and smoke. It was such a relief to see these men and women walking in safely after being on the battlefield. Below are a few of the pics I took for one of our families. Hopefully only three more weeks until we welcome home our soldier!
