Addie got to sample her first foods this week. We started out with rice cereal and avocado. She welcomed both and did well with the spoon, but both feedings ended in the stereotypical "squinchy" face. I'm planning on making her food and used our baby food processor for the first time last night. We currently have avocados and peas pureed, frozen, and ready to go. I'm excited to try a wide variety of foods with her and hopefully she'll end up as an adventurous eater! I like Dr. Greene's take on introducing babies to food; he suggests starting out with green veggies since those are typically the hardest to enjoy and to have one served at both lunch and dinner every day. Once they've had several green veggies (or if they won't accept them) it's on to orange ones. I'll be flexible with what we serve her, but I've enjoyed learning about the differing opinions on serving infants solids.
