Yesterday, Adeline and I had the privilege of watching Tim receive a Bronze Star, for commanding in combat. The ceremony was held in the hangar at his work and about 50 family members were present. The event began with an invocation, followed by a short speech from the battalion commander, then the awards were pinned, and we ended with a couple military songs. It was similar to a graduation ceremony in that they read the description of the award and then called off soldiers' names, one after the other. Three awards were handed out: Bronze Star, Air Medal for Achievement, and Army Commendation. It took about an hour for them to read all 400 names and surprisingly Adeline survived, playing in her stroller most of the time and calling out da-da to all the soldiers behind her =). Tim will also receive an Air Medal for Achievement in the near future. We're one proud family!
