![]() Weekly Memory Verse: Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. -- 1 Thessalonians 5:18. In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday my memory verse this week is about being thankful to God, regardless of what He is allowing to happen in my life. The Lord has blessed me with a husband who I respect and trust, a daughter who fills me with delight, a family who is loving and supportive, financial security, the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom, a rooted church, and giving friends. Yet, in each of our lives there arises the chance to grow in Christ, often difficult times. In these circumstances I must trust God's plan for my life, and praise Him for all of the blessings he has bestowed upon me.

![]() Weekly Memory Verse: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." --Ephesians 4:32 When Tim returned from his first deployment, neither of us really knew what to expect. I couldn't grasp the severity of what he'd witnessed and experienced, I didn't understand why he was so tired all the time, and I didn't allow him the time necessary to adapt back to "normal life." With instruction from the study When War Comes Home, I feel more prepared this time to gently reintegrate our family. My plan is to interact with Tim in a Christ-like manner, focusing on kindness and compassion. So, when my thoughts or actions shift into that selfish, prideful gear (as they often do), I'll recite this verse to get me back in the right heart-space. How can Ephesians 4:32 help YOU this week? Or, what other piece of scripture will you memorize that is applicable to how you need God to work in your life over the next seven days? |
