After six months of training, I am finally ready to be a client advocate at Hands of Hope, a local pregnancy crises center. As I embark on this journey, there are a thousand things that I could worry about. Will I have the right words to convince a woman to choose life for her baby? Will I remember all the information I need to properly inform her of all her options? Will I be able to share the Gospel in an approachable, loving way that leads a woman to Christ? Will I be able to recite a prayer that speaks to her heart? The problem with all these questions is that they focus on me, not God.
No matter what concerns are plaguing us, we must remember that God equips us, God has plans to prosper us, and He promises to hear our prayers. It is not up to us to "save the world." If we place our anxiousness in God's hands and allow ourselves to trust Him, we can truly begin to do our greatest work for His kingdom.
The below verses magnify this idea:
- "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." --2 Timothy 1:7
- "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." --Philippians 4:13
- "For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict." --Luke 21:15
