![]() Weekly Challenge: Be thankful for the gift of Jesus. For the last two days most of us have been celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and find ourselves in overwhelming thanks to God for this AMAZING (in the true sense of the word) gift. Let's not allow our thanks to end just because Christmas is over. For Christ is a gift to celebrate every day of the year! My challenge to you this week is to use the gift of Jesus to conquer your anger, your fear, your doubt, your worry. Consider the scripture below: Do not be angry: "for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires." --James 1:20 Do not fear: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." --Deuteronomy 31:6 Do not doubt: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. " --James 1:5-6 Do not worry: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." --Philippians 4:6-7 When you feel these emotions arise and toxic thoughts begin to pollute your mind, make the VERY next thought one of appreciation for Jesus, praising God for this awe-inspiring gift of redemption, peace, love, compassion, and eternal life. Because nothing, no matter how negative, can suppress the love of Christ and the hope of eternal life!
